School Feeding Projects
To improve the school enrolment of children, IFED implemented school feeding projects in two primary schools in Amara and Elhur villages in Harardhere district of Mudug region. The project aimed to improve the enrolment of the children and reduce the dropout rate of both girls and boys and improve the nutritional status of school children.
This project was funded by common humanitarian fund of UNOCH. 690 of drought affected children (207 girls and 483 boys) ,32 women and men school staff received take home ration for 6 months of 51 MT of maize, 7.4 M3 of vegetable cooking oil and 28.6 MT of cowpea and 22.6 MT of sugar distributed as a take home ration. A total of 690 school children and 32 teachers benefited from this school feeding intervention.
IFED stand for the helping and empowering of vulnerable communities without partiality or discrimination. Since its establishment, 2600 students who graduated from the secondary schools that Iftiin established in Mudug and Galgadud regions are now studying in different universities in Somalia and as well as overseas universities.
